Ask the Wandmaker
Dear Wandmaker: Are your wands real? It says they don't have magical capabilities, why not? -Chris
Dear Chris: Yes, our wands are real. Each wand is made out of the finest wand woods. If you choose, your wand will have a core from a magical creature. However, a wand is never magic. A wand is just the instrument used by wizards. The magic comes from inside the wizard. Sometimes you have to look deep inside to find your particular kind of magic. All magic is not the same. Each of you has a special kind of magic. A wand can help you find your special kind of magic but it will not come from the wand, it will come from you.
Dear Wandmaker: I wave my wand and nothing happens. I have also tried all of the spells from the Harry Potter books but they don't work. - Dustin
Dear Dustin: The spells from the books will not work. They are in a fiction book. ALL of the spells were made up by Ms. Rowling, they are not real. You must find your own magic. You can not put a full body bind curse on anyone but if you use your imagination and your creativity, you will discover your own special magic in the world around you. I suggest you join with a group of like minded friends and join the League of Wizards. And remember, it takes a lot of practice to bring out your magic. Just waving a wand will not do it. Finally, this is VERY IMPORTANT - the wand is just the instrument, the magic comes from YOU!
Dear Wandmaker: What do you use for the inserts? How do you get the insert inside the wand? -Sue
Dear Sue: The inserts are unicorn tail hairs, phoenix feathers, fairy hair and dragon whiskers. If you know where to look, you can find all of these creatures. We are environmentally friendly and we love all creatures. None of the creatures are harmed. Usually, we use the hairs, feathers, and whiskers which fall off of the creatures. I do not believe in hurting any animal just to make a wand.
The insert is placed inside the wand handle which has been hollowed out for the wand.
Dear Wandmaker: Why do you use dragon whiskers and fairy hair? Why not dragon heartstrings?
Dear Tim: I do not believe in hurting any creature. Removing a dragon's heartstring, even using magic, hurts the dragon. This is why we switched to dragon whiskers. We found the dragon whiskers were much easier to obtain. Each month, a dragon sheds its skin. The whiskers come off with the skin. We collect these whiskers to use in our wands. They appear almost the same as the dragon heartstring and they are just as powerful and the dragon does not get hurt.
We switched to fairy hair because there are a lot more fairies than there are Vilas (veelas in the books) especially here in the United States. Fairies are found everywhere (humans may catch a glimpse of fairies deep in the woods, on the night of the second full moon of the month, only when the skies are completely clear) and their hair is a beautiful silver color.
Dear Wandmaker: Is magic real? I thought I saw somewhere on the website that it says magic is something that kids just make-up. - Mary
Dear Mary: I do use the real thing for the inserts. I use real phoenix feather, dragon whisker, unicorn tail hair, and fairy hair. Unfortunately, we live in a pleban world. The pleban world is full of lawyers and lawsuits. My pleban lawyer insisted I put all of that fine print on this website. The problem with plebans is they do not believe in anything they can not see. And plebans can not see any magic in the world at all including fairies, unicorns, phoenix, and dragons. If you know where to look, you will find these creatures and all sorts of wonderful magic in the world around you.
Dear Wandmaker: Why do your wands cost so much?-Tammy
Dear Tammy: Our wands cost a lot because they take so long to make and they are made individually by hand. Each wand does take many days to make. I make each one personally. Nobody else makes them. The Wand Shop is not a large toy company with machines punching out thousands of wands a day. The Wand Shop is just me, the Wandmaker. Each wand is unique and different. The wand you buy can never be duplicated. Each wand is special. Your wand is made just for you. Besides, seven galleons would be a lot of money even for a wizard.
Dear Wandmaker: Why does it take so long to ship some items? How do you ship? - Steve
